Shift-Backspace should do the same as Backspace, and CR is the same as
any other character that can be deleted. Are you putting physical
returns at the ends of your lines within paragraphs? Ick!

In the sources of my programs and in TeX files, I type RETURN at
the end of each line.
But I've said that finally Shift-Backspace = delete the begining of
the line is better.

But
making other changes like (For things other than tool boxes) not topping
windows when they're clicked in not only confuse and frustrate people
(myself included), but they often make simple things (like topping
windows when you WANT to) difficult.

I disagree.
The best thing is that these changes are done by an AUTO program (not
in an app) so that you can choose the behavior of the GEM.
